SEARCH

ASEAN GI database search function is available in the home page of the tool interface. Five search criteria are available in the main search area for you to choose from. These are:

Country of registration: you can select the country of your interest from the drop-down menu.

Registration date: you can filter your search by dates using the arrows in the calendar to navigate through the months and years.

GI name: free text field where you can enter either the whole or part of the GI name that you are looking for. The name can be entered in English or in local language.

Right holder: free text field where you can enter either the whole or part of the GI right holder name that you are looking for.

Geographical origin: you can choose to search only for domestic or foreign GIs registered in the ASEAN region. Please note the tool will search for both, domestic and foreign, by default.

 

LIST OF RESULTS

As standard you will obtain a results list with the following fields.

  1. Country of registration
  2. GI name
  3. Registration date
  4. Right holder
  5. Geographical origin
  6. Information Fiche. By pressing on the document icon   you will be redirected to the GI information fiche.

By default, the list of results is ordered by Country of registration ascending, then by GI name ascending. You can click on any column header to sort your results by that column in ascending or descending order.

The order of the columns may be changed by dragging the column heading to the desired place.

In the pager bar at the top of the results area, the total number of results is displayed for your reference.

While the number of results displayed per page is set up on 25 as default, you can change this setting by selecting the number of results per page from the pre-defined list.

You can print the list of results by pressing on the print icon

 

INFORMATION FICHE

To access the information fiche for the GI of your interest, click on the corresponding  icon in the “Information fiche” column.

The information fiches includes information concerning the geographic indication, in particular the GI name, the country and date of registration, its main characteristics/features its process of production/processing, the geographical area of production, the link between the product and the territory, the type of product, the GI file number and competent authority, the GI right holder or GI association and its contact details information.

Please note al GI information fiches are available in English.
